FosterPower

FosterPower is a free app and website developed by Bay Area Legal Services to provide Florida's foster youth with accessible information about their benefits, protections, and legal rights. Launched in May 2023, it covers topics such as independent living, medical and mental health, education, the court process, placement, monetary allowance, and more. The platform includes over 40 short-form videos featuring former foster youth sharing their experiences. FosterPower also offers in-person and virtual training for both youth in foster care and child welfare professionals. Since its launch, the app has achieved over 5,500 downloads, 45,000 website users, and 200,000 video views, and has trained more than 500 individuals. It has received multiple awards, including the 2024 InnovAction Award and recognition as a runner-up in the 2024 American Legal Technology Awards.
