Mina

Mina is a multilingual legal assistant powered by large language models (LLMs), specifically designed to address the challenges faced by Bangladesh's low-income population in accessing affordable legal advice. By supporting both Bengali and English languages, Mina simplifies complex legal language and procedures, making legal information more accessible. It employs a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) framework that integrates retrieval, reasoning, translation, and document generation to provide context-aware legal drafts, citations, and plain-language explanations through an interactive chat interface. Evaluations by law faculty from leading Bangladeshi universities demonstrated that Mina scored 75-80% across all stages of the 2022 and 2023 Bangladesh Bar Council Exams, matching or surpassing average human performance. This indicates its potential as a cost-effective AI assistant capable of automating key legal tasks and enhancing access to justice in Bangladesh.
