Stanford Legal Design Lab

Stanford Legal Design Lab is an interdisciplinary team at Stanford Law School and the d.school, dedicated to reimagining the civil justice system through human-centered design, technology, and law. The Lab focuses on developing innovative legal products and services that enhance accessibility and equity in the justice system. Their mission encompasses training students and professionals in civic innovation and public interest technology, creating user-friendly legal services and policies, and coordinating efforts to scale practices that make justice more accessible. Current initiatives include AI and Access to Justice, exploring how artificial intelligence can assist individuals with legal issues, and Justice System Innovation, aiming to improve the overall functioning of the legal system. Past projects have addressed areas such as eviction prevention, virtual legal systems, smart legal communication, and public interest technology.
