Z.ai

Z.ai is a Chinese artificial intelligence company specializing in large language models (LLMs) and generative AI technologies. Founded in 2019 as a spin-off from Tsinghua University's Knowledge Engineering Group, Z.ai has developed a series of pre-trained dialogue models known as the General Language Model (GLM) family. These models have been released under the free and open-source MIT License since July 2025. In addition to GLM, Z.ai offers a range of AI products and services, including Ying, a text-to-video model; AutoGLM, an AI agent application; and AMiner, a research tool. The company has expanded its global presence with offices in the Middle East, United Kingdom, Singapore, and Malaysia, and has been recognized as one of China's leading AI firms.
